The horrors in Palestine continued today, as the people of Gaza suffered one of their worst days since October 7th. A large crowd, filled with children, were trying to take some of the limited amount of humanitarian aid that crosses the border in Northern Gaza. A desperate, starving population was trying to take flour home to their families. And by home, of course, I mean their tent, which is surrounded by thousands of other tents, in Rafah.  The Israeli army subsequently opened fire on this crowd, killing at least 112 people, along with injuring hundreds more. The Israel Defense Force admitted to this atrocity, adding that many of the victims were then run over by the trucks as they fled the Gaza strip. The “negotiations” that were taking place between Hamas, Israel, and the United States, have been officially postponed because of this incident. The attack on free speech has been one of the main reasons why we have seen such drastic increases in division when it comes to American politics. It’s both amazing and tragic that an amendment that was passed 232 years ago is still at the forefront of political discourse. The lie that we the people fall for is that this war on free speech, and every other war we are fighting, is a battle between Republicans and Democrats. It’s nonsensical. To understand this war however, we must first discuss how people of a once fully democratic nation are losing their power and individual liberty. Now, I totally understand that Republicans are extremely frustrated with the overwhelming support of the Democratic Party by the media, big corporations, and education systems. However, these things come and go. That is the society we are living in right now, but those things fluctuate generation to generation. Both the Democratic and Republican Primaries were called instantaneously when polls closed earlier tonight at 9:00 PM Eastern. Trump and Biden were immediately projected as the winners of their respective races, but the margins in this race, especially in the Democratic party, can tell us a lot about the general election. As of 10:39 PM, with 30% of the votes being reported, Donald Trump is leading Nikki Haley by 40 points, which is just about what the polls were projecting over the weekend. With one of Haley’s top donors dropping out just before this primary, we can conclusively say her campaign is all but over. My guess is we don’t hear from Haley until she gives her exit speech. It will be interesting to see if she endorses Donald Trump during that speech, seeing that she has signaled to her voters that she does not care about the Republican party whatsoever, just by staying in this race without any results. It has been amazing to see what kind of effect the war in Gaza has had on the American population. The Palestinian cause has never been more popular, as it has become one of the most protested causes in human history. The leaders of the Western world have been left tunned by their own populations, who have created some of the largest protests in human history. It is an unbelievable thing to see that, even when the media denounces you as a terrorist if you hold Pro-Palestinian views, the people do not care.  The Palestinian cause has always been seen as an exclusively left-leaning viewpoint, as it takes a stand against colonialism, siding with the oppressed population. However, unfathomably, there are factions of right-wing parties that have come around to also side with the Palestinians. Some people, believe it or not, do not like it when they hear 15,000 kids have been massacred in just a few months. Sweden’s 11th month process to join NATO finally came to an end. Hungary, being the only nation who had not yet accepted Sweden’s bid, voted in favor of Swedish accession. This is a clear demonstration of NATO expansionism, meant to continue piling the pressure on Putin. This comes on the same day that the Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico, came out and openly stated that NATO is considering sending their own troops to fight in Ukraine. This has been rumored for about a month or so now, but it looks like it is finally coming into fruition. For all of the leaders and members of the media who claim that Putin is intending to conquer, not only Ukraine, but all of Europe, this certainly could fuel an escalation that was never necessary, or even on the table. The Michigan Republican Primary is set to take place tomorrow, February 27, 2024, which will be followed by a Caucus in Michigan this Saturday.  Early polling in Michigan shows Donald Trump ahead of Nikki Haley by staggering margins. A poll taken by Emerson College shows Trump ahead by nearly 50 points in Michigan, meaning we are likely to see a sixth straight victory for the former president. Voters can expect this race to be called as soon as the polls are closed in Michigan, so there won’t be much to watch for the rest of the night in terms of results besides the margin of victory. What will be interesting to see is if Nikki Haley comes out to address supporters tomorrow. I am certain we will see Trump take another victory lap tomorrow, as expected, but I am much less sure what Haley’s game plan will look like. A man just set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy. All we know right now is that it was an American soldier, who was shouting “Free Palestine,” and “I will not be complicit with genocide,” as he burned in front of the Israeli Embassy. This is a perfect representation of how Western citizens feel. Every single day, we the people become more and more powerless. If you live in America, there is literally nothing you can do to create true change. There is no vote, there is no discussion. There is nothing you can do but yell as loud as you can into an empty void. That feeling burns deep into your soul and remains there until you let it out. This man let it out. He, like all of us, did not know what to do. He did not know how to be heard, because there is no possible way to be heard. The fog of war is powerful. The truth is often difficult to find in the fog, but sometimes the fog is thicker away from the battlefield. One of the great mysteries of the Russia/Ukraine war is the shocking lack of coverage or concern about the actual death toll in the region. We have heard from each and every side that “Ukraine has been decimated by this war,” or that, “Russia’s army has been dramatically weakened,” but no one seems to have a clue about how many people have actually died in the war. The estimated Ukrainian civilian casualty number has hovered around 10,000, but most experts believe the true number is much higher.  The military loss is the most significant statistic. There have been reports that hundreds of thousands of soldiers have been killed in the past two years, some even saying that Ukraine itself has lost half a million. Other sources have claimed that the death toll is actually much lower, with some hovering around 50,000 total soldiers killed.  So how...

As of 12:19 AM, February 25, 2024, Donald Trump has won the South Carolina primary by about 20 points. The race was called within minutes of the polls closing in at 7:00 PM Eastern, and Trump quickly gave his campaign speech without even mentioning Nikki Haley. Haley on the other hand looked wounded by the defeat in her home state, but maintained that she would remain in the race. Prior to the polls opening, Haley stated on national television that she “needed to do better than we did in New Hampshire,” meaning they needed to get more than 43% of the vote. Well, she ended up with 39% of the vote, but that is inconsequential. The vote is never what mattered. My honest opinion is this could have been an 80/20 split, and Haley would somehow spin it in her favor to defend herself staying in this race.
